my less serious day: a cinnamon miracle

Am I the only one who didn't know this?

One teaspoon of cinnamon has as many antioxidants as 1/2 cup of blueberries.

It's a miracle, my friends. A miracle.

Wearing.

Skirt: LOFT; top: Target; tights: Target; shoes: Tsubos; belt: gifted via mom (LOFT); necklace gifted via mom (unknown)

Doing.

Happy to be back to my normal routine, this morning I hit the pavement for a 30-minute run at working pace. I took a 10-minute walk after lunch and ended my day with a 60-minute Body Pump class. I will be sore. (Morning update: I AM sore).

Eating.

Pre-run I had 1/2 banana and coffee. Breakfast was a bowl of Kashi GoLean Original mixed with Cascadian Farms fruit & nut granola, 1/2 sliced banana, a dusting of cinnamon, and almond milk. Plus more coffee.

Lunch was a spinach salad topped with tomatoes, roasted broccoli, cucumbers, microwaved sweet potato slices, toasted pecans, grated parmigiano-reggiano cheese, hummus, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper.

My afternoon snack was a Fuji apple and cocoa-dusted almonds.

Dinner, inspired by Ashely @ the Edible Perspective, was sauteed kale, roasted grape tomatoes, and two eggs on top of whole wheat toast.

Dessert was plain Greek yogurt with cinnamon and a drizzle of honey.

Note: this post represents what happened in my world on Monday, January 9.
