home again

On my drive home from my extended Christmas vacation all I could think about was....Brussels sprouts.

I walked in the door with 2 pounds of these beautiful sprouty nuggets of joy and whipped up a recent favorite meal.

A twice baked sweet potato topped with mushrooms and cheddar and Brussels sprouts two ways (caramelized and roasted).

Welcome home, Sara. Welcome home.

  2. This looks so good! I'm love the idea of putting cheese & mushrooms on a sweet potato, definitely gonna try that. I've been craving spaghetti squash like crazy. I can't wait until I get home so I can make it!

  7. Little known brussel sprout factoids
    1. They're little wild cabbages.
    2. Lighting a match may reduce the odor (which comes from overcooking).
    3. They fight cancer!
    4. They're popular in Belgium and the Netherlands.

    Go Brussel sprouts!

  12. I absolutely love these kinds of brussels sprouts. I went to a restaurant one time and had the BEST brussels sprouts in the world. I told the waitress how much I loved them and she actually printed out the recipe for me!
