Figure 1. Breakfast: a bowl (x2) of Post Shredded Wheat, Kashi Indigo Morning, a sliced banana, and almond milk.
Figure 2. Lunch: a spinach and romaine lettuce salad with carrots, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, green onions, peanuts, an Amy's Sonoma burger, red wine vinegar, and ketchup.
Figure 3. Afternoon snack: a Gala apple and dry-roasted almonds. If you follow my less serious life regularly, you'll note there have been (and will be) many more food pictures at work. Unfortunately, work is really busy and instead of natural light and grass and trees in the background, sometimes you'll have to tolerate fluorescent light and research proposals in the background.

Figure 4. Dinner: whole wheat spaghetti topped with marinara sauce and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, a Quorn 'chicken' patty, and roasted green beans. Tonight was M's night (the boyfriend) to make dinner all on his own. Spaghetti it is.
Figure 5. Dessert: whole wheat banana bread snack cake topped with peanut butter and chocolate chips.
And that concludes another What I Ate Wednesday (featuring what I ate Monday, August 20).
i might have asked this before but why all the sudden did u decide a couple of weeks ago that you'll have 2 bowls of cereal every morning instead of just 1? ?? and i absolutely give credit to your boyfriend for wiping up that great dinner! it sure looks tasty to me
ReplyDeletegood question! actually, i just split my portion (which is still really large) from one bowl into two. first it was to keep the cereal crispy, but now i have one bowl before my workout and one bowl after. my schedule has changed a bit. so really it is just one bowl, but separated in two. haha.
DeleteAt least your boyfriend can cook pasta haha :) also looovvveeee your snack cake :)
ReplyDeletehaha right! that is what i told him - i'll take a night off as long as it's semi-healthy!
DeleteOoooh that snack cake!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you do for work?
i am an assistant professor in a college of public health. nerd alert!
DeleteOh my word, your dessert looks soo good!! I could eat it for every meal!
ReplyDeleteHaha your salad is cracking me up. I don't know if I could do ketchup and peanuts together, but I love the originality ;)

ReplyDeleteI had some roasted string beans last night too, total yum.
ReplyDeleteThat snack cake. Wow. I want it.
ReplyDeleteI love your food posts! I've used a lot of your salad ideas...peanuts, hummus for dressing, lots of your other combos. Wanted to ask you...what are your beverages? Do you only drink water? Tea? Coffee? Just wondering. I hope you are doing well!!!
ReplyDeletehey gayla! so i drink black coffee in the morning. and other than that i only drink water. except for the occasional alcoholic beverage - but, i try and only have alcohol on the weekends otherwise i get overly dehydrated with all my workouts...
DeleteThanks Sara!
DeleteYour cereal combo looks great. I love mixing them all together like that. I also love the drippy peanut butter on the banana bread. Yum, yum!
