weekend review: the.best.cornbread.ever

Figure 1. Friday night's dinner: pasta puttanesca and a lemony arugula salad.

Figure 2. Saturday afternoon baking: lemon olive oil cake. Made this for a Saturday evening dinner party - it was a hit.

Figure 3. Sunday morning baking: skinny pumpkin granola.

Figure 4. Sunday night's dinner: crockpot bbq beer chicken, spiced pumpkin cornbread, and collard greens served over raw spinach. Read: this is not only the best cornbread that I've ever made, it is probably the best cornbread I have ever eaten. Ever. All we could talk about during dinner was how fantastic this cornbread was. I then proceeded to eat half the pan. Then, I had dreams about this cornbread. And now, I want to eat more cornbread. Stop what you are doing and make.this.now.

  5. Everything I've made from daily garnish has always been amazing, so I'm not surprised the cornbread is delicious! It was on my must-make list and now I REALLY must make it. Looks like a great weekend!

  6. Can you believe I never had cornbread before? Well, admittedly, it's simply not a staple in Germany so that might explain. I've been meaning to try it for a while now, though, and if you say this recipe was then best ever ...
