what i ate wednesday: issue 68

Figure 1. Breakfast: two slices of Ezekiel sprouted grains toast topped with peanut butter and banana.

Figure 2. Post-run morning snack: a banana from my stockpile.

Figure 3. Lunch: chicken tikka masala from Trader Joe's eaten with my kiddie fork. So good and not completely full of gunk like most frozen meals.

Figure 4. Afternoon snack: an apple and almonds.

Figure 5. Dinner: leftover rice pilaf, roasted green beans, and a Quorn Chik'n Pattie dipped in ketchup.

Figure 6. Dessert: dry Fiber One chocolate cereal.

And that concludes another What I Ate Wednesday (featuring what I ate Tuesday, February 12).

  3. I love pretty much all roasted vegetables, but I've never tried roasted green beans! Growing up my dad would steam them and serve them with some butter and toasted almonds, so that's how I always eat them. I need to try roasted!

  5. Dry cereal is ten times better than cereal with milk! It's a lot easier to eat too much of it too though :)

We have a ginormous stockpile of bananas at home too. Both on our counter and in the freezer.

  10. Your kiddie fork looks cute and I'm using small spoons at times, too, as elsewise I tend to eat way too fast.

Roasted veggies are definitely something I need to give another chance. Maybe I just did something wrong the last times?!

  11. Toast with almond butter and bananas is my favorite go to breakfast. Especially if I'm on the run or before a workout. So good and filling!

  14. I have to admit that I was shocked by your our-of-the-norm breakfast, but comforted by the fact that your banana stockpile looks incredibly similar to my own - complete with tiny brown spots and everything :D

  16. Mmmm if you drizzle honey over that toast those are my favourite flavours all together - peanut butter, banana and honey. Yum!!!
