my less serious day: put together

Good thing I'm doing this post today. Yesterday I rummaged through my dirty laundry basket, pulled out both a top and bottom from the depths of the wrinkled and smelly pile, gave them a shake, and called it an outfit. Today, I just did that with my jeans. And you thought I was always put together...

Wearing.

Top: J Crew; jeans: GAP; belt and necklace: LOFT; shoes: Miz Mooz via Piperlime.

Doing.

This morning I went on a 80-minute run followed by a 15-minute cool down walk with L. After work I attended a 60-minuted RIPPED class at the gym followed by a 15-minute walk with L when I got home.

Eating.

Pre-workout I had 1/2 banana, 1/2 mug of black coffee, and 1 pint of water. For breakfast I had a bowl of Kashi GoLean Original mixed with Post Great Grains Raisin, Date, & Pecan cereal, 1/2 banana, and almond milk.

My day was filled with meetings so my lunch and snacks were packed up to go. Lunch was an Amy's Burrito that I cooked and smashed on top of a pile of spinach.

My first afternoon snack was the remnants of a tub of plain Greek yogurt, pumpkin, cinnamon, and homemade almond and quinoa granola.

My second afternoon snack was a Pink Lady apple and cinnamon-roast almonds.

Introducing the most amazing salad dressing in the world: avocado dressing (avocado + lemon + nooch + garlic + sparkles + happiness). Make this now and pour it all over your life. Or a salad, like I had for dinner.

Dinner was a mixing bowl salad drowned in avocado dressing (actually I massaged it in to make sure everything got a delicious, creamy coating). The salad included romaine lettuce, raw purple cabbage, steamed broccoli, grape tomatoes, smoked almonds, and leftover couscous. A toasted whole wheat English muffin on the side. My dessert was a Skinny Cow peanut butter crisp.

Note: this post represents what happened in my world on Thursday, May 10.

  1. Ok, that is a way cute outfit. You are my style inspiration! I am so afraid of colours (I wear neutrals almost all the time), but now I want to wear bright purple!
