Today is my 50th WIAW anniversary. I think that means you guys have to buy me gold. Gold or Arctic Zero - I'll accept either.
Figure 1. Breakfast: a bowl (x2) of Quaker Oatmeal Squares, Rice Chex, a sliced banana, and cow's milk.
Figure 2. Lunch: a spinach and arugula salad with grape tomatoes, dates, peanuts, balsamic vinegar, and tahini thinned with milk and apple cider vinegar.
Figure 4. Dinner: an egg scramble (1 egg + 2 egg whites) with zucchini, squash, mushrooms, and red bell peppers, sharp white cheddar cheese and two pieces of Ezekiel toast (I buy 7 Sprouted Grains) with Earth Balance soy-free spread.
Figure 5. Dessert: dulce de leche sugar-free pudding (Jello brand) with fat-free cool whip. PS I always add more cool whip after I photograph...
And that concludes another What I Ate Wednesday (featuring what I ate Monday, September 17).
Hehe,congrats on Sara-WIAW turning 50 today! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your dessert. Caramel pudding + cool whip = amazing. <3
i agree! a recently discovery - this combination and i can't get enough!
DeleteYou always have to have a layer of whipped cream on top of dessert. When you eat the top layer, it's time to add more whip.
ReplyDeleteExactly. Or, just carry the can to the couch and take shots of whipped cream AS your dessert.
Deleteyou girls get me. that's all i have to say.
DeleteHappy anniversary!!! and what a delicious bunch of eats. Hand me the jelly please ;)
ReplyDeleteif someone bought me arctic zero I would be one happy camper :)
ReplyDeletehaha my boyfriend actually surprised me with arctic zero last friday. better than flowers - i tell ya.
Deleteis the recipe for that almond butter granola here on your blog?? it sounds so good!
ReplyDeleteonly 2 more weeks until you reach a year of WIAW'ing! ;)
yes, it totally is. it is actually based on Anna's recipe for her healthy peanut butter granola. instead of peanut butter, i subbed almond butter and i used All Bran instead of Kashi. here is the link: http://theguiltlesslife.wordpress.com/2012/04/30/healthy-peanut-butter-honey-granola/
DeleteIt's not even 10AM and now I'm craving something Cool Whip related.
ReplyDeletecool whip at 10 AM? can't say i've never done it before...
DeleteSugar-free dulce de leche pudding? I need to go out and buy some this instant! And I always add a ton of cool whip too...can't get enough of that stuff
ReplyDeleteHey girl! I meant to ask you before - why the switch back to cow's milk? I'm not against cow's milk at all but had noticed you used to almost always have almond milk with your cereal so I wasn't sure if there's a reason. I'm always curious in case people (especially science-type people like yourself) have made this decision for a reason that may benefit...!
ReplyDeleteyeah, i was wondering if anyone had noticed the switch. so i think i've told you about how i've been dealing with tummy troubles for some time and trying to figure out the cause. eliminating soy from my diet has helped tremendously, but not completely. the GI doctor told me that i might be getting too much calcium with the amount of almond milk i drink. so i have been trying out cow's milk. actually feeling good so far. giving it a go for 2 weeks to evaluate!
DeleteOh that's awesome! Who knew, most people find issues with lactose so it's funny that it works in reverse for you :). Hope it keeps up! xx
Deleteyummy eats! love the cereal :)
ReplyDeleteHow come you always write bowl "x2" of cereal? Why don't you just have one big bowl? Lol.
ReplyDeletehaha this is a perfectly reasonable question. i guess this doesn't seem weird to me at all. 2 reasons i have them separated. #1 i don't like the second half to get soggy - so even if i eat them both in the same sitting, i still divide in 2. plus i make combinations and i'll usually (although i never write this) make 2 different bowls with 2 different cereal mixes. but #2 is because i usually have 1 bowl before my workout and one bowl afterwards. just depends on the day, really.
DeleteWOw, 50 WIAW congrats! I have no idea how many I have done...I should have kept track. That homemade high protein almond butter granola looks so perfectly delicious!
ReplyDeletethanks sarah!
DeleteIt's perfectly okay to add more whip cream to ANY dessert.. or even just eat it by the spoonful <3 haha
ReplyDeleteyay i'm glad to read all the blog love for adding extra whip cream. i did this again last night...
Deletei LOVEEEEE cool whip. I ran out of it awhile ago..and was literally just thinking how I need to buy it again. Then I saw this blog post and am taking it as a sign that I need to purchase it for sure when I head to the store after work!
